About Us

DataPop's founders have played critical roles on the teams that led the development of the online ad industry at Overture Services, Yahoo! and DoubleClick. Recognizing the need for a radically new way of creating massive and complex campaigns that take full advantage of the power of online advertising, the DataPop team developed an entirely new ad creation platform.

Founded in 2008, DataPop’s investors include a MK Capital, Rincon Venture Partners, IA Ventures and Momentum Ventures.

Prior to co-founding DataPop, Jason was VP of Emerging Ad Products at Overture Services and Yahoo!, where he and his team partnered with leading marketers to test new models for engaging consumers on video, mobile, targeting and social platforms. Before joining Yahoo!, Jason was Director of Business Development at DoubleClick. There he managed partner programs for its technology solutions division. Jason earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University.

Before he co-founded DataPop, John was Managing Director of Commercial API Programs at Yahoo!, where he was responsible for search marketing platform integrations with Fortune 500 advertisers and key technology partners that touched over $1 Billion in annual revenue. John previously held various roles on the product and engineering teams at Overture Services and Amazon.com. John received a BS in Biomechanics from Loyola Marymount University and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Dave Schwartz

Dave joined DataPop after being Category Director at Yahoo!, where he was responsible for driving adoption of the company's local advertising solutions. Prior to Yahoo!, Dave was an Engagement Manager for J.D. Power Consulting, working with leading brands such as Toyota and Acura. David holds an AB/MS in Economics from Stanford and an MBA from UCLA.
Dr. Ben Zamanzadeh
VP of Engineering
Before joining DataPop, Ben was VP of Engineering at LeadPoint where he led technology strategy, planning and execution. Previously as Director of Engineering at Yahoo!, Ben headed the Domain Match engineering team and was responsible for search algorithm development and ad serving technologies. Prior to Yahoo, Ben held executive level positions at various technology companies including Reuters and Teledyne. Ben holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and MBA from UCLA, and currently serves as the Vice President of the UCLA Computer Science Alumni Advisory Board.
Frank Lee
VP of Sales
Prior to DataPop, Frank ran the Client Services and Media Optimization teams for The Search Agency where his team managed SEM, SEO, Display, Social Media and landing page optimization for the firms clients, with budgets totaling over $150MM per year. Prior to The Search Agency, Frank was on the Strategic Alliances team at Yahoo! & Overture Services, where he managed agency programs in the Western region. Frank holds a BA in Communications from UCSB, and is on the Board of Directors for SEMPO.
